Preparing for and Countering the Reptile - pleadings, discovery / deposition, and trial The “Reptile” strategy may have originated with a 2009 book, intended to teach plaintiff trial attorneys how to awaken the reptilian part of jurors’ brains. Intended to inspire nuclear-sized verdicts, it boils down to a simple formula: safety rule + danger = reptile.
